Six years ago, RW went on a rock and roll pilgrimage and disappeared from much of regular life. Going underground while quietly writing songs in a room and developing a unique rock sound and style that was modern yet based in the classics of the genre. Some of these classics are now being released as singles and as RW said, “the way I remember them sounding”, which ends up being a bigger, more aggressive sound than the actual original songs.
Many stories will unfold as the singles, followed by the full album, are released. If you just want to rock out or if you enjoy going deeper into the music then it’s all here, layer after layer. Alone with the Gods will take you on a journey across the ocean of struggle and loss and into the depths of the mind and emotions. You’ll learn what went into these songs and their meaning so be sure to watch it all on social media as everything unfolds.
Old friends and new were enlisted to make the sound real and tangible. Some are not yet mentioned since they are currently touring in other projects, as so many musicians do nowadays, so we will get to know them at a later time. Stay tuned!
Some of them we can get to now.
This quote from Bukowski says it all:
“If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.”
― Charles Bukowski, What Matters Most is How Well You Walk Through the Fire

When enough fans are ready for live performances then the band WILL perform, but it’s up to you. All of the musicians that performed on this music live just below the line of stardom and could be out of reach at any time. Although this would be fantastic for them, let's see if, with your support, we can bring them together and experience this music for all it’s worth.
"I take the blame", is how RW describes his role in the project. "If you dig the music or don't, blame me."
Whether it's playing blues bass in small clubs in Baltimore for grocery money, playing keyboards in dance clubs back in the day or studying at Berklee College of Music and The Peabody Conservatory Prep, he does things his own way, with his own style.
